Music Machine is one of the last remaining fully independent musical instrument stores in New Zealand. They pride themselves on their wide range of quality brands and the outstanding customer service their team provide. In 2018, the store celebrated an impressive 25 years of business so they approached us to create something special for the milestone.

The Approach

The campaign was centered around the Christmas holidays which was the busiest time of year for sales.

Once the tone was set by Richie and his team, we used their impressive 25 years of experience in the business as the focus for our message which we targeted to three main locations – Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch.

The Content

We created a personalised animation to launch the campaign which was designed to cut through the noise of the newsfeed. It stamped Music Machine’s point of difference in the music retailer market with unique and original content.

The animation featured an original song that Richie and his band wrote called ‘Got To Be Mine‘ by Power. It also featured a car he has always dreamed of owning and his two much loved dogs.

The Results

  • We reached over 100,000 people in their target demographic (using very modest ad spend)
  • An average cost per click of around $0.60 which is well below the industry standard
  • 45,000+ total video views
  • Our content was the 3rd highest referrer of traffic to the Music Machine website
